Batteries

What is a battery?

A battery is an energy storage unit, which you can use to store unused solar energy and use it during night time when there is no solar energy produced.

Why do I need batteries?

Storing the surplus solar energy into a battery allows you to use the stored power at night or during outages, increasing self-consumption. In addition, some state-based feed-in-tariffs are now been cut back or eliminated, which means selling your surplus solar to the retailer is going to give you too much credit back.

How many batteries do I need?

This will depend on your energy usage and requirements.

What is warranty for lithium LG batteries?

10 Years Manufacturer's.

What is the warranty for SolaX batteries?

5 Years Manufacturer's.

Can I add more batteries to my battery system?

You can definitely add more batteries to your system at an extra cost. Contact us at 1300 200 959 or Request a Quote.

How long will the batteries last?

Depends on the type of batteries, generally they last for up to 5,000 cycles or up to 10 years.

Will the battery charge on a cloudy day?

If the solar system is not producing enough energy to charge the battery, the battery can recharge using power from the grid.

Where will the battery be installed?

Usually the battery will be installed in an indoor storage area with adequate ventilation. We recommend the garage and close to the main electricity distribution panel.

How big and heavy is a battery?

It depends on the type of battery. An entire unit of lithium batteries may be a size of a washing machine, or our all-in-one unit is a size of a TV.

Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS)

What is HEMS?

This is a device that can be installed in your home to help monitor and collect information about your energy (electricity and gas) usage to reduce both energy wastage and money on energy bills.

Why do I need HEMS?

Being able to accurately monitor your energy usage will be beneficial in identifying the areas where you can reduce your usage and in turn cut cost off your energy bills. By reducing your usage, you are also reducing your carbon footprint and contributing to a greener environment.

How does HEMS work?

The energy manager is connected to the energy meter and PV inverter via cable or wirelessly and receives data from these devices. The data is then sent to a portal for analysis, which includes display of the PV energy available over the course of the day and a live display of all energy flows in the household.

How long is the warranty for HEMS?

・Energy Manager - 5 Years Manufacturer's
・Energy Meter - 2 Years Manufacturer's
